Trip to Maval Srushti

On 22nd December 2006 all of us (the entire family) were at Maval Shrusti.

Aditya and Akshay - These guys enjoyed the most!

Its like a private mini hill station. It is situated at a very convenient distance from Pune. It lies in the vicinity of the scenic Pavna dam and the Tamhini forest. From Pune, one has to proceed to the PAUD village, via the well known 'Chandani Chowk' and Pirangut road. After reaching the Paud bus terminus, a right turn followed by a compact road leads the visitor to the Kolwan village. An arch sign naming Kolwan village is easily visible. Crossing the arch and following the steep road leads the visitor straight Maval Srushti. The total distance from Pune is close to 40 kilometers.
We took Appa's and my car. Before going to Maval Srushti one has to do booking else the place may get full and they may not allow inside.

One of the forest trail - There ought to be more posts indicating directions.

The Concept of Maval Srushti is really a culmination of ideas of Mr M.S.Joshi & Mrs. Smita Joshi, both Engineers by profession. 5-6 years ago they bought around 18 Acres of hill slope, and created this beautiful resort. There are hundreds of trees such as Mango, Coconut, Cashew, Papaya, Bananas, Chickoo, Silver Oak, Cassurina, Spatusdia, Gulmohar, Kanchan, Brownia, Ashokas, Zakiranda. Yellow Keshiya, Kailashpali ... its almost like a Botanical Garden. The Joshi's say that not a single tree was cut to pave way for construction.

Flowers .. a lot of them everywhere. Nature is abundant.

The Architects, Engineers and Surveyors Association (AESA) selected Maval Srushti for the "Juries Recommendation Award for the Best Environmental and Eco Friendly Design".

Real Lotus .. something we never see in the city!

The food is pure vegetarian but pretty bland. Also they have this concept of limited sweet dish. You can have only one serving of the sweet dish. Thats a real "Puneri" thing to do after charging Rs.200 as entry and food charges. The supports/grab rails that are provided on the forest walkways are only for namesake. The arrangement for cafetaria is too low budget with plastic chairs and tables. They serve their own water. Bottled water is not available. So you will have to carry your own bottled water if you need it. The parking is too small and the private road approaching Maval Srushti is absolutely bad. I have given this feedback to them.

The place has its plus' and minus'. But if you don't expect much and would like to be near nature then this is a good place to go. Another thing - Our Airtel, BPL and Idea mobiles did have coverage over there.

From Maval Srushti we went to a place named Hadshi.

After you get down the hill from Maval Srushti and reach the main road, take left turn and go ahead for about 2 kms. Again take a left through an arch or ask the locals the way to Saibaba Mandir.

This is a mandir dedicated to Satya Saibaba. Its on top of a hill and the place is being built. The approach road is very bad.

They are building artificial lakes and the entire area is covered with lawns.

You can actually touch and feed the deer!

The view from the top is excellent.
