These kids are judgmentally “labelled” as a self-obsessed generation and having a nihilistic philosophy of life. Incidentally, this was also said by the “Boomer” generation about kids in the 70’s. So we have circled back to the 70’s. 😊 The youth of the 1970s may have been born in an independent country, but they were disappointed and unhappy. Unemployment, prices rise, absence of avenues to a better life had taken too much toll on the youth. Ditto 2026? And this gave rise to words like Bhankas (भंकस), Bekaar ( बेकार) , and so on. (Those in their fifties and sixties can identify with this  😊 ). The West sang its rebellion through the heavy metal music of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and the bloom of Flower Power. I discovered Gulzar in my teens.
