Trip and road to Sajjangad, Thoseghar & Chalkewadi
This is about our visit to Thoseghar. This trip was also unplanned as most of our other trips. We left at 7.30am in our Indica Turbo DLG. Satara is about 2 hours drive from Pune. Sajjangad another 30 mins beyond , followed by Thoseghar another 20 mins and Chalkewadi further 20mins. We took the Aundh - Pashan - Chandani Chowk - bypass highway through the new Katraj tunnel and then on the Mumbai - Bangalore highway. Enroute we filled up diesel at the Reliance outlet. The entire road is in excellent condition and full marks to the authorities. We entered Satara at about 9.30 am. Since we diddn't know the directions to Sajjangad we asked the locals and got prompt reply. We took the road to the Rajwada and reached the chowk that has the miniature Effiel Tower. Here there is an arch that tells the direction to Thoseghar, Sajjangad and Chalewadi. We followd the road till we reached the "Bogda". This is a very small tunnel in the mountain.
