Expressions of the stupid common man
The left parties and the Congress had their own agendas when they came to power in 2004. But they declared that they have a common minimum programme and on that base they joined hands to enjoy power. The left as always enjoyed power without accountability. Can anyone imagine the left calling a general strike to protest against the Congress’ policies? Its own partner in power! And the strike was successful in West Bengal too. The state is ruled by the Left party! How can a party in power call a strike in its own state?
Later as the elections approached the Left thought that they could place Congress on the mat on the nuclear issue and gain some mileage. They withdrew the support to Congress and claimed to be on a high moral ground. The Congress joined hands with Amar Singh and retained power!
A victim of souring of relations between Congress and Left parties was the Singur plant. The Tata’s had invested Rs.1500 crores. The worlds eyes were upon India to see how the Nano could be produced at a ridiculously low price. And when Mamta Banerjee started her agitation the Congress chose to look the other way. The Congress wanted the Left government to fail in protecting the Nano. But the real loser was India as a nation. The message that went out to the world was a negative one.
Now again elections have been declared with every party projecting its own Prime Ministerial candidate. Nothing wrong with it but this will happen at the cost of democracy. When Sanjay Dutt was refused permission by the Supreme Court he was asked by journolists if his wife would be contesting! And doesn’t Sanjay Dutt have any shame? The guy had got the AK47 or 56 from the underworld! Its good that Sunil Dutt is no longer there to see all this. Anyway, this is the cheapest precedent set after Lalu installed Rabri as the Chief minister of Bihar.
Lalu’s brother in law Pappu Yadav has joined the Congress party. Wow! More and more the street goondas will now be making laws for us.
Is it time to call Quit India again? The old slogan was to ask the British to Quit India. The new slogan would apply to us the common people. It can be argued that this is just running away from the problem. But there is no point is ruining ones life dodging the difficulties in day to day life.
So in such a scenario whom and what do I vote for?
The Congress does not have any new ideas to offer.
Among other things the 33 page manifesto states that they will guarantee the maximum possible security to each citizen. This comes from a party whose Central Home Minister, a state chief minister and state home minister had to resign on account of security.
They also declare that rice will be available at Rs.3 a kg. Where is the water going to come to irrigate crops?
They also declared that they will provide quality education by starting new IIT's, IIM's and IISc's. So what were they doing for the past 5 years? At what about the disgrace of reservations that their HRD minister has brought?
The next point on the manifesto states that they will expand schemes for the well being of the farmers. Are they rubbing salt into the wounds of the farmers? There have been maximum suicides by farmers during Congress' rule.
They plan to connect every village with a broadband network. Where is the electricity going to come from?
They also mention that they are going to ensure energy security for the country. They should have taken inspiration from Brazil to reduce dependance on oil. What about electricity and the 12 to 14 hour loadshedding?

The BJP is no better. Their manifesto runs into 49 pages!
Their manifesto speaks of national security. Absolutely hillarious coming from a party whose minister escorted terrorists to Afghanistan. Their party leader was caught on tape accepting money. Their part MP was caught at the airport on account of human trafficking.
The fact is that while a huge majority of India is young and eager to take on the future, the BJP has old and very old men at the top with old and outdated ideas. How would these old men have a new vision for the country. The manifesto again takes us through the old ages of Lord Ram. Come on guys get real.

There are real issues to resolve. And they diddn't even keep the promise of building the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. So why would even the so called hard line Hindus trust these guys?
