Oh My Nation

 It took us 70 years
To build the structure ..
One that was best among peers

Then came the blind men
Large in numbers and in spirits
Armed with weapons modern and bits

Their calls so shrill
They blinded others at will

Happily some gave up their eyes
To calls of imagined lies

Together the men .. old and new blind
Destroyed everything in their bind

They took down the structure
Brick by brick
Leaving it naked
And shorn of dignity

(When they died ..
.. Oh yes they too died)

What they left behind
Before they died
Were some ruins
Amidst anguish and cries
Some bricks here
And some there

Through your lifetime and mine
We have to find them
For the sake of our children
And build it again
But mind you, there will be pain
