Pancham – In Memoriam

The way you waved your hands
You never used a baton
You always made those discreet movements
To suggest a nuance here or an तान there
And then the mischievous smile
You were innovative
You were creative
You were so full of life
Even in todays songs
We find those places and exclaim
यह देखो यहा है पंचम
We still argue endlessly
On how you broke the rules of music
How the प सा from राह पे रहते है
Was changed to सा मा
I keep finding you everywhere
You created sounds from everything
In the sounds of flowing water
In the sound of the bubbling soda
Even slaps on the back
The more I listen to you
The more I keep on discovering you
Thanks Pancham
For all the happiness
You brought us.
It’s been 19 years
But the pain and agony
Still feels like it’s happened yesterday
Boss, Saluting you on your exit.

संदीप खरेच्या कविता

संदीप खरेच्या कविता ..... इतके दिवस मी फ़क्त ऐकले होते की संदीप खरेच्या कविता खूप छान असतात. इथे Calgary मधे weekends ला खूप वेळ मिळत असल्याने त्याच्या कवितांना Google केले। This guy writes good stuff. Actually it is Thanks to dear Sachin Kulkarni that I got to hear Sandeep Khare. The first poem that I heard was "अताशा असे हे मला काय होते ". This is a fantastic piece of retrospection. He has brought about the thoughts of everyone who has thought about his actions of the past. The sight of clouds fighting amongst each other to be the first to drench the earth it clouds our thoughts and finds a way out through the eyes. Absolutely stunning metaphor on the ironies and compulsions of life. Here are some of those that I could. Trip to Karde

Trip to Karde (कर्दे) This was a trip planned almost a month ago. We were looking for a weekend getaway when someone mentioned Karde. Karde is a very small village near Dapoli. The population would not be more than 1200. The village is still not commercialised though the hotels are. The people are very simple and friendly. The beach is still clean and has white sands. Infact this is only one of the two beaches in Maharashtra having white sands. The water is clear. We decided to go via Mulshi. We (Vaishali, Karishma, Akshay and me) started from Aundh at 5.45am . Appa joined us at 6am from Model Colony. We took the road to Chandni chowk then to Pirangut. The small Pirangut ghat offers a magnificent view of the plains down below. Fields are still green owing to the abundance of water in this area. The road to Mulshi is quite good now (thanks to the Lavasa project by HCC) and we were doing 80's till we reached the end of Mulshi. The Mulshi backwaters presented a splendid view. The ro
