Some questions about today

Why do we have bigger houses, but smaller families .... more amenities but less time?
Why do We have a higher level of education and more knowledge, but less common sense and competence to judge?
Why do we have more experts on all issues, but even more problems. More medicine but less health.
Why do we laugh too little and get angry too quickly?
Why do we Watch too much tv and read too little?
Why do we have multiplied our properties and estates, but we reduced our values and morals
Why do we talk too much, but love too little.
Why have we learnt how to make a living, but not how to live.
We have years to live but yet can‘t add years to life.
Why do we have higher buildings but lower tempers.
We have wider streets but more narrow points of view.
We spend more but have less. We buy more but enjoy it less.
We went all the way to the moon and back, yet we can‘t cross the street to meet our neighbours.
We have split up atoms but can‘t break down our prejudices.
We build more computers to obtain more information, but have less personal communication..
We have two incomes but more divorces ... Nicer houses but broken homes
Is Life is about moments of joy, not moments of survival?

Every stanza of this long ten stanza song, brings forth a different truth (some may call it philosophy) of life. Like the first says "None to be blamed, all happens as a result of our past deeds and misdeeds". Yet another stanza says birth and death are those realities of life that no one can avoid. संदीप खरेच्या कविता

संदीप खरेच्या कविता ..... इतके दिवस मी फ़क्त ऐकले होते की संदीप खरेच्या कविता खूप छान असतात. इथे Calgary मधे weekends ला खूप वेळ मिळत असल्याने त्याच्या कवितांना Google केले। This guy writes good stuff. Actually it is Thanks to dear Sachin Kulkarni that I got to hear Sandeep Khare. The first poem that I heard was "अताशा असे हे मला काय होते ". This is a fantastic piece of retrospection. He has brought about the thoughts of everyone who has thought about his actions of the past. The sight of clouds fighting amongst each other to be the first to drench the earth it clouds our thoughts and finds a way out through the eyes. Absolutely stunning metaphor on the ironies and compulsions of life. Here are some of those that I could. Trip to Karde

Trip to Karde (कर्दे) This was a trip planned almost a month ago. We were looking for a weekend getaway when someone mentioned Karde. Karde is a very small village near Dapoli. The population would not be more than 1200. The village is still not commercialised though the hotels are. The people are very simple and friendly. The beach is still clean and has white sands. Infact this is only one of the two beaches in Maharashtra having white sands. The water is clear. We decided to go via Mulshi. We (Vaishali, Karishma, Akshay and me) started from Aundh at 5.45am . Appa joined us at 6am from Model Colony. We took the road to Chandni chowk then to Pirangut. The small Pirangut ghat offers a magnificent view of the plains down below. Fields are still green owing to the abundance of water in this area. The road to Mulshi is quite good now (thanks to the Lavasa project by HCC) and we were doing 80's till we reached the end of Mulshi. The Mulshi backwaters presented a splendid view. The ro
